This It is my first day back from my oversea trip to USA including attending Hearing Voices World Congress in Boston in August. Intervoice will have a range of videos of the Keynotes and I would encourage you to have a look at their website www.intervoiceonline.org

I have moved to Boolaroo in Lake Macquarie and will only coming to Sydney twice a month to do business for Hearing Voices Network NSW: this will include on the 2nd Friday of the Month and for the Management Committee meeting on the third Wednesday of the month.

The management committee has there next meeting on Wednesday 22 September and we will be finalising the date for the AGM in December plus a workshop that will be held in the Inner West earlier in the day to look at how HVN NSW will adopt the Hearing Voices Network Group Charter, information about the Group Charter has been included In the HVN eNews – I will be resending the Mailchimp later today.

Next Thursday is World Hearing Voices day and I will be part of a Zoom Video Conference hookup in Wallaroo, SA at the 2017 Recovery Camp – the information for the event is in the eNews below.

I was privileged to attend a couple of Hearing Voices Group while visiting the USA and felt very much at home, it was good to see that they have used a similar format to how we run the groups here in NSW.

I was also very pleased to receive information that a grant we had worked on with ARAFMI Central Coast was successful and this will allow us to work on building the network across the Central Coast.

I spoke with Voice Vic yesterday and their training will be going ahead on 27/28 September – more information about the training is available on our website and there is room for a few spaces.

A couple of other things have come up that I am excited about we now have a voice hearer led group in Orange and I may get to updating the website information today.

The other things relate to two NGO’s talking with me at the TheMHS conference last week in Sydney about how HVN NSW can assist them to setup groups for some of their clients

I would appreciate if you could pass this information on to others in your networks that may have an interest in the Hearing Voices approach

Although I will only be in Sydney twice each month I can be reached on my mobile 041 346 4469 ordouglas.holmes@mh-worx.com however if I am in a meeting or its not before 6 pm it will go to voice message and I will get to it a latter time

Regards
